It’s a WILDLIFE at QUIZ NIGHT!

Want to help make Quiz Night a lively & wild experience? Join the volunteer team! We are looking for folks who would like to help before, during and after the event. This year, the Quiz Night theme is It’s a WILDLIFE. Volunteers and participants alike are encouraged to don your favorite flippers or regale yourself in a set of antlers and dress to impress to help make Quiz Night a wild adventure this year!

The Environmentalist of the Year Scholarship

The Environmentalist of the Year scholarship, administered by the South Yuba River Citizens League, is offered annually to graduating high school seniors that have a commitment to the environment. Since 2002, seventeen $4000 scholarships have been awarded to local students. Scholarship Details

Last year twenty-six teams vied for the prized title—Champions of the Brains of Nevada County Quiz Night. After more than three hours of laughter, mind-bending trivia, and conviviality the cream of the crop rose to the top. The KnowBuddies, for the third time, clinched the title and claimed their place at the front of the pack.

Quiz Night is an annual fundraiser for SYRCL’s Youth Environmentalist of the Year and year-round River Education programs. The scholarship is awarded each June to a graduating high school senior who has demonstrated a commitment to the environment. Since 2002, sixteen $4,000 scholarships have been awarded to local students. Last year’s recipient was Nevada Union’s bright and talented Anya Cooper-Hynell.

This event is certainly a night to be remembered, with good old-fashioned competition, costumes and team camaraderie.
