SYRCL’s Annual Impact Reports

“People Can Save a River.” This founding premise inspires, empowers, and emboldens the South Yuba River Citizens League to take collective action against threats to the Yuba River’s waters and ecosystems. We do this thanks to the incredibly generous financial donations from and volunteer hours pledged by individuals and organizations throughout the watershed and beyond. As stewards of the Yuba, SYRCL wants to make sure that all the contributions of funds and time it receives are used to maximize our impact restoring, reviving, and safeguarding the river ecosystem.

Each year, SYRCL releases an Impact Report that details the work we have done over the course of the previous year

An impact report is a document that showcases the results of an organization’s activities, connecting the support we have received with our operations and outcomes. Our Impact Report is a high-level overview of all of the programs, projects, and advocacy we were engaged in during the year.

2021 SYRCL IMPACT REPORT

In our 2021 Impact Report, you’ll find out about our advocacy initiatives, including our opposition to the reopening of the Idaho-Maryland mine and our support for the Growing Green for the Yuba cannabis initiative, as well as our dynamic River Education program offerings, and our River Ambassador program and River Cleanup event.

The Impact Report further provides updates on all of our restoration projects. It talks about our River Restoration projects at Upper and Lower Long Bar, Hallwood, and Rose Bar. It describes the impact of our Meadow Restoration on Van Norden and Haskell Peak, as well as our Forest Restoration projects as part of the North Yuba Forest Partnership and the Yuba Forest Network.

The Impact Report also delves into our River Monitoring program and, of course, the impact of our award-winning Wild & Scenic Film Festival.

SYRCL’s 2021 Impact Report summarizes all the work we were able to do last year as stewards of the watershed thanks to the generosity of the greater community. This work takes all of us, working together towards the common goal of protecting the river we love. None of our impact would have been possible without the support of our donors and volunteers.
