Join us in celebrating and supporting the Yuba

With over three decades of achievements, 3,500 members, and 1,300 active volunteers, the South Yuba River Citizens League is the central hub of community activism to unite, protect, restore, and celebrate the Yuba River watershed.

Community Activism

  • Working to restore wild salmon to their native habitats
  • Holding stakeholders accountable for the health of the watershed
  • Inspiring activism across the globe with our environmental film festival

Together, we are creating and extending our powerful coalition from the Sierra to the sea.

Visit the Yuba

the Yuba welcomes everyone

Thanks to its signature emerald green swimming holes and picturesque granite boulders, the South Yuba River is one of the most visited attractions in Nevada county. Each summer, the Yuba’s popularity attracts hundreds of thousands of river goers.

Of course, more visitors means more coolers, more dogs, more trash, and a greater risk of catastrophic fire. We ask that you recreate safely, practice Leave No Trace values, and remember that the Yuba welcomes everyone.
