Wanting a unit of interactive and engaging online lessons for your 3rd-8th grader? How about one where students can learn about the wildlife and ecosystems right in their backyard? Then look no further- check out our Virtual Yuba Salmon Adventures!

Join us on seven virtual adventures, each individually designed for 3rd-8th grade students (or the whole family) to explore a different ecological, cultural, or historical aspect of the fall Chinook salmon run, right in the backyard of the lower Yuba River.

What’s Included in the Virtual Yuba Salmon Adventures?

In these 8-15 minute video episodes, you and your students will learn about:

• History of the Lower Yuba’s Ecology & Indigenous Communities
• The Story of the Lower Yuba Salmon
• How to Protect & Restore Salmon Habitat
• How to Do Your Own Water Quality Monitoring in Your Backyard Creek or Stream

The video episodes are packaged as a Common Core aligned educational unit. The unit includes:

• A resource guide
• Pre-and post-assessments
• Pre-episode and during-episode activities
• And more!

All the episodes and activities are designed for easy Environmental Science and Social Studies learning at home. All your student needs are paper, their writing utensil, a device to watch it on, and their curiosity!

Plus, there are English & Spanish Subtitled Versions of each episode.

How Much Is The Unit?
