Wild & Scenic Trail Mile Marker Installation Along Over 35 Miles

We have begun to install Mile Marker posts throughout the South Yuba Canyon. On Wednesday, February 28th, SYRCL staff worked with California State Parks to install trail mile markers at Bridgeport State Park and the trails near 49 crossing. There is still a lot of work to be done and we need your help.

SYRCL’s Annual Quiz Night Returns with a Whole New Look

SYRCL’s annual Brains of Nevada County Quiz Night is back and has a new home. Join us on March 12th at Gold Vibe Kombuchary for bubbly drinks, food trucks, and trivia! 

Tickets to Quiz Night are $10 and are available at the SYRCL website – yubariver.org as – well as at the door. We encourage you to get your team together (no more than five people) to show up and show off at 12615 Charles Dr, Grass Valley from 6:00–9:00pm, and it’s sure to be a wild and exciting evening of trivia, competition, and community! Doors open at 6pm and trivia begins at 6:30pm.

SYRCL has recruited volunteers for the past 23 years to monitor what has grown to 37 sites across the Yuba watershed.
 
If you are interested in being one of our community scientist River Monitors, you will need to attend an Orientation AND mandatory Field Training. River Monitoring training is free and open to everyone!

The South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) and our partners are currently working through a tangle of water issues which stretch from the highest reaches of our beloved Yuba River all the way to the Golden Gate Bridge. This issue promises to impact how Yuba water flows into the Bay-Delta system which will have a notable impact on the health of the Yuba watershed’s ecology, especially for salmon.
