The Yuba’s Plight Getting National Attention

Share with Your People

Due to the efforts of the nonprofit conservation group American Rivers, the Yuba is getting a much-needed national spotlight.

As you know, last Tuesday American Rivers designated the Yuba a Most Endangered River due to the harm done to salmon, steelhead, and sturgeon at Daguerre Point and Englebright dams. This week, we’ve had some great local media catch this story (at YubaNet the Appeal-Democrat and The Union), and we got a blurb at KQED.  Even the Wall Street Journal picked up the story.

What you can do now to really keep our story alive and build support for restoring salmon and the Yuba is sign the petition, and then contact your local media outlets (television, newspapers, radio) and get them to run this story.
