SYRCL’s March 18th Quiz Night Cancelled

Started in 2002, Quiz Night is the fundraiser for the South Yuba River Citizens League’s (SYRCL) Youth Environmentalist of the Year scholarship and its year-round River Education programs. Each year, SYRCL awards a $4,000 scholarship to support a local college-bound student who has demonstrated a commitment to the environment and is on their path to becoming an environmental steward. 

This is a well-loved SYRCL fundraising event, and while several former Quiz Night teams expressed excitement for its return, registration numbers are not where we need them to be just two weeks before the event. Additionally, the snow and power outages are challenging our outreach efforts, so we made the very difficult decision to cancel Quiz Night.

SYRCL’s Youth Environmentalist of the Year scholarship still needs your support! Rest assured that we will continue to support college bound environmentalists, and you can help! We are sorry that this wonderful event isn’t happening as planned, and we look forward to working with the community to ensure that SYRCL can continue to support our college bound seniors.

SYRCL will announce this year’s scholarship winner in April, but please consider donating to the scholarship fund today!
