Scotchman Creek Excursion – Sunday, June 12th

Please come join SYRCL’s River Science Team in the exploration of the Scotchman Creek Watershed Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 1-4 pm. This community excursion will be meeting up at the scenic overlook pull-out on Washington Rd at 1 pm. We will discuss features of the Scotchman Creek watershed and then carpool to view the legacy of mining in that area and finish with an exploration of Tahoe National Forest’s re-vegetation work at Alpha Diggins. Please note that there are no trails at Alpha Diggins. We will be joined by special guest, Rorie Gotham, SYRCL’s 2010 Volunteer of the Year and Scotchman Creek Watershed resident. You will need to bring:
- Hiking Shoes
- Snacks and Water Bottle
- Sunscreen and Insect Repellent
- Suggested Donation of $3-$15
- A positive attitude with a smile upon your face

Meet on Washington Road off of Hwy 20, at a pull-out approximately 2 miles down Washington Road. See the map with the pointer on the meeting location.
