Love the Yuba River? Concerned that things like fire or litter may compromise your favorite swimming hole?
Become a River Captain today to get paid to protect the river you love!
SYRCL is seeking to hire four part-time River Captains who are enthusiastic and passionate about the Yuba River and its health. The River Ambassador program runs 16 weekends between May 23rd and September 7th, with two trainings for Captains in May and July. River Captains work three to four weekends per month (6-hour shifts), spending Saturdays and Sundays at the river training and coordinating River Ambassador volunteers to educate visitors about best stewardship and fire-safety practices.
Looking for a volunteer opportunity instead?
You too can join in protecting the river as a River Ambassador! River Ambassadors commit to 3-5 4-hour shifts on weekends throughout the summer spreading best stewardship practices at the four main river crossings: Bridgeport, Hwy 49, Purdon, and Edwards. Visit our River Ambassador page to learn more.
Save the date for our first River Ambassador training – May 8th from 5:30 to 8:00 pm in the SYRCL Office.
