Meet The Team: Emily Wilson, SYRCL’s Community Engagement Manager

Share with Your People

Emily grew up wandering the trails and stairways of Mt. Tamalpais and has since practiced her particular brand of slow, aimless hiking throughout the U.S. and beyond. She loves plants and is currently trying to grow a lush English garden using only the meanest, scrappiest plants. When she’s not at work you can find her chatting with her sisters, swimming in the river, or embarrassing her dog with made up songs.

Since 2010, after years of directing dance and theater productions, Emily has applied the same advanced cat-herding skills to volunteer coordination and program management for non-profits. She has had a blast. Emily finds that volunteers are the kindest, happiest, and most hilarious people around, probably because they’re realistic about the state of the world but have decided to stay engaged and love it with everything they’ve got.

Emily is looking forward to working with this year’s YUBA RIVER CLEANUP volunteers.
