Friendships Formed Around Trail Work

Ten SYRCL supporters, accompanied by a Tahoe National Forest employee completed 3 miles of trail maintenance in Grouse Ridge, Tahoe National Forest on September 18 as part of the 13th Annual Greater Yuba River Clean-Up and Restoration Day working from Loney Meadow up to Lower Rock Lake.  Water bars were built, a large tree blocking the trail was cut and removed, loose rock removed all to make the trails more usable for hikers, mountain bikers and the many equestrian riders that use this trail.  The trail is now ready for the winter rains and snow so that degradation of the trail will be minimized.  Thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard as a team that day!  We hope to have more trail maintenance and trail building days in 2011.
