“Best Day Ever” at Wild & Scenic: Making Mountain Biking Trails Accessible for All
Review by Pamela Biery
For the 24th year, SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival (WSFF) is setting out to inspire environmental activism, foster a love for nature, and ignite solutions for a sustainable future through storytelling from February 19-23, 2026.

Storytelling is at the heart of WSFF, and the best stories enrich our lives, open our hearts, and have the potential to change us through a shift in consciousness. Best Day Ever is just such a film, told concisely by adaptive mountain bikers Allie Bianchi, 26, and Greg Durso, 40, as they explore life after disability in a Green Mountains biking community. Having both suffered life-changing accidents, they transform their experiences into a pathway for healing themselves and others through adaptive mountain biking trail development.
Best Day Ever invites us to take time to enjoy the pure joy of being outside, experiencing mobility and adventure, and watching it transform people’s lives—not to mention cultivating gratitude for all that we tend to take for granted.

If you’re looking for a film at Wild & Scenic where you can leave smiling and thinking about the good you might do in your own community, then Best Day Ever just might be the film for you. Nevada County’s avid mountain biking community can also use this film to glean lessons about adaptive trail development design.
Those interested in learning more have the opportunity to meet with Greg Durso for coffee and conversation at Three Forks on Saturday morning.
Berne Broudy, president of Richmond Mountain Trails and film producer, observes,
“There are so many problems in this world that aren’t solvable. We can solve this problem.”
Seeing Best Day Ever just may convince you that there are other problems within our reach to solve—and isn’t that maybe the very best thing that can come from a film?
