2023 State of the Yuba a Success!

Share with Your People

After a number of years off, the South Yuba River Citizens League was proud to bring back its State of the Yuba event on Wednesday, April 26 at Peace Lutheran Church in Grass Valley.

Attendees got to hear from SYRCL’s team about the condition of the river, SYRCL’s vision for the future, education and volunteer opportunities, current projects, challenges, recent successes, and more ways to get involved.

The State of the Yuba event was also an opportunity for SYRCL to recognize the many people and organizations who have donated their time and their resources to help SYRCL continue to fight for the health of the Yuba watershed.

SYRCL was proud to honor:

Volunteer of the Year: Rorie Gotham

Sponsor of the Year: Briar Patch Co-op

Partner of the Year: Yuba Water Agency

Environmentalist of the Year Scholarship Award: Owen Papegaay

Thanks to everyone who attended, renewed or began their SYRCL membership, and signed up to volunteer for one of our many opportunities.

And thanks to La Guaira Bistro for providing our attendees with such delicious food.

Looking forward to seeing you again next year at our State of the Yuba event.
