An Evening for Education – SYRCL’s Wild for the Yuba 2026 Recap

On Friday, June 5th, the South Yuba River Citizens League gathered with friends, supporters, and river lovers for a truly unforgettable night: Wild for the Yuba 2026.

From the first bite of the delicious meal prepared by Antonio Ayestaran Custom Catering, to the paddle drop drawing to close out the night, the evening was humming with the energy of a community united by a shared purpose: supporting the great work of SYRCL’s Education Department.

This year, SYRCL’s Salmon Expedition program took a hit as we lost the program’s primary funder due to the Colgate disaster. Funds raised at Wild for the Yuba are helping to close this funding gap, in addition to supporting SYRCL’s River Ambassadors and other education programs.

To help bring in the bids, we were thrilled to welcome back professional auctioneer Freddie Silveria, who brought his signature charm, keeping the evening flowing with enthusiasm on the mic.

This special night would not have been possible without the generous support of our sponsors:

Our sincere thanks go to the generous local businesses and talented artists who donated a beautiful array of auction items, and to everyone who bid in support of our mission.
