Give to the 2023 Yuba River Clean-a-thon!

The SouthYuba River Citizens League’s Annual River Cleanup is turning 26 this year. Over the last quarter of a century, volunteers have removed more than 135 tons of trash and recycling from our watershed. However, the work is far from over.
In the last few years, the Yuba River has been enjoyed by over 800,000 people each summer. From locals to out-of-town visitors, everyone has an impact on the river. By the end of “river season,” the Yuba needs a little help from the community that loves it.
Here’s where YOU come in.
In support of this year’s River Cleanup and SYRCL’s ongoing efforts to care for and safeguard the Yuba, we ask you to consider contributing to the 2023 Yuba River Clean-a-thon.

The Yuba River Cleanup: A Dedicated Community on a Powerful Mission

The power of hundreds of hands working in harmony is undeniable. The Yuba River Cleanup is more than just a cleanup; it’s a testament to the strength of community and shared purpose. As volunteers scour the riverbanks, wade through shallow waters, and climb over rocky terrain, camaraderie emerges, echoing the river’s own harmonious flow.

SYRCL’s 26th Annual Yuba River Cleanup will be taking place on September 23, 2023 (with a self-guided component the following week). This annual event not only demonstrates Nevada County’s pride in the beauty of its watershed but has become a critical part of keeping the Yuba from further environmental degradation due to overuse and unthinking recreators.
