Over the last seven years, SYRCL staff has been working in collaboration with federal and state agencies and other environmental organizations to relicense the Yuba River Development Project, owned and operated by Yuba County Water Agency (YCWA).

FERC accepts comments from the public one time during the relicensing process. Right now they’ve released the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Yuba River Development Project.

This report disregards specific recommendations that were made by environmental groups and federal and state agencies. Finally, the report does not meet the requirements of analysis under the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) nor the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and does not contain the required mitigation under the Federal Power Act (FPA).

We are asking YOU to submit comments to FERC before the deadline July 30, 2018.

Your voice is needed to help advocate for Yuba Salmon. This relicensing process will have an environmental impact on our beloved Yuba River watershed for the next 50 years. Don’t let an anti-environment administration set a legacy for future generations to come.
