Join SYRCL and American Rivers for Two Days of Learning and Service!

Summer time at Loney Meadow

We will be training volunteers to assess mountain meadow conditions at Bear Valley and Loney Meadows.  In the past years, SYRCL volunteers tested out and provided input to the Meadows Assessment Scorecard developed by American Rivers.  The Scorecard is now finalized and approved by the Tahoe National Forest.

New meadows volunteers are invited to learn and to conduct the assessment; no experience needed.  Return meadows volunteers are invited to help train others and use the new Scorecard on Bear Valley and Loney Meadows.

We will be joined by special guest, Dave Weixelman, Fire and Range Ecologist/Botanist with the Tahoe National Forest

Additionally, a service project will be conducted with the Tahoe National Forest to improve conditions on Loney Meadow.  Click here to learn more about the service project.
