SYRCL responded quickly to a proposal by Archon Energy, a Canadian company, to build a new hydropower facility at Daguerre Point Dam on the lower Yuba River. In August 2012, SYRCL filed a formal comment letter with the Federal Energy Regulatory Committee (FERC) and issued public statements expressing our concerns about the potential negative impact on fish passage at the dam.
SYRCL is building strong alliances with other concerned conservation organizations, agencies and the public who share our commitment to the restoration of wild salmon to the upper Yuba River. SYRCL has set up this webpage as an information clearinghouse to educate and engage the community about this proposed development. Please sign up to stay informed on this important issue.
