Upper Long Bar

In 2021, SYRCL was funded to work on the Upper Long Bar Restoration Project. The project is funded by the Wildlife Conservation Board through their Stream Flow Enhancement fund. SYRCL is working in partnership with cbec, Cramer Fish Sciences, Yuba Water Agency, private landowners, and Silica Resources Inc.

This project will restore about 50 acres of floodplain habitat. This includes lowering the floodplain, creating high water side channels, riparian planting, and the placement of large roughness features. Pre-project monitoring efforts, project designs, and planning documents are being produced. This is the first public stakeholder event for the project.
