Scotch Broom Challenge March 29, 2025
In the face of federal cuts to conservation funding, our grassroots activism is more important than ever to protect our ecosystems and homes.
Let’s come together as a resilient community to remove invasive species, decrease wildfire risk, and put in the work to make a difference in our public lands!
SYRCL’s Restoration Coordinator is organizing a Scotch Broom removal workday at the BLM Campground by Edward’s Crossing and could use your helping hands and enthusiasm
- 8:45am– meet at the SYRCL office to organize carpools and load up weed pullers
- 9:30am– begin the pull near the BLM campground by Edward’s Crossing (South Yuba Recreation Area)
- 1:00pm– finish up and have the option to either drive back to the office or have lunch by the river/hike the South Yuba Trail for a bit
Bring: sturdy shoes, water, lunch, sunscreen, work gloves if you have them.
