Salmon Expeditions

Join us on a Salmon Expedition

SYRCL’s Salmon Expeditions are an amazing opportunity for you, your family, or your child’s school to adventure down the Yuba River to see spawning salmon! We work with amazing volunteers and experienced river rafting guides from H2O Adventures to offer the community several different options to get their hands (and feet) wet while learning about the salmon life cycle, local ecology, and human impact on these incredible fish. We hope you’ll join us out on the river.

Expedition Opportunities

School Float Expeditions

Are you a teacher or parent with kids you’d like to get outdoors? Each year, throughout October and November, we partner with local educators to bring school groups out on the river for an amazing environmental science field trip.

Bookended by pre- and post-trip classroom visits, this educational and fun day on a raft includes learning about the Yuba River ecosystem, how mining has impacted the river, SYRCL’s work to protect salmon, viewing one of SYRCL’s major restoration projects at Hammon Bar, and hiking the Yuba Goldfields.

We also have a Virtual Option available.
