YubaFest is Happening on October 15th and 16th

On October 15th & 16th, the fly fishing event of the year is happening in Northern California!  If you fly fish, love rivers & protecting them, YubaFest is the event is for you, brought to you by the Northern California Council of the Fly Fishers International.  

A great group of conservation organizations will be appearing at Yuba Fest this year, including SYRCL (South Yuba River Citizens League), Trout Unlimited (TU), California Trout (CalTrout), Sierra Nevada Alliance, Sierra Stream Institute, Bear-Yuba Land Trust, Golden State Salmon Association (GSSA), Wolf Creek Community Alliance, and California Sportfishing Protection Alliance .  

Saturday will offer a full day of learning fly fishing skills, casting with certified casters, fly tying with experts, and a tribute to Jon Baiocchi, Yuba River guide.  Great food will be available for purchase during the day, along with drinks and beer, and you’ll enjoy the music of The Harmony Groove Band in the afternoon. There will also be a raffle, as well as silent and live auctions for fly boxes and other great and high value items.  

On Saturday night, it’s time to relax and enjoy.  There will be a gourmet BBQ dinner & trimmings. After dinner, you can stay and be treated to the wonderful voice of Karrie O’Neil, singer/songwriter from Reno. 

Sunday will offer a variety of on the water activities.  Both a guided drift boat trip and a guided walk and wade trip on the Lower Yuba.  Clay Hash will do a workshop on how to fish highly technical waters.
