Now Hiring: Forest Restoration Field Crew Member
The South Yuba River Citizens League (SYRCL) is hiring two full-time (part-time considered) Forest Restoration Field Crew members to work on the Tahoe National Forest on non-native and invasive weeds removal projects. Crew members will work on a team of 3 people under the direction of a Restoration Crew Leader to treat invasive plants that pose high fire risk throughout the forest, as part of SYRCL’s efforts to support community fire resilience and watershed health. Field Crew members will be responsible for identifying specific invasive plants, removing the plants with hand tools, and disposing of plant material in a safe, effective manner. The crew will be working closely with US Forest Service botany crew members. The Technician may be called to assist with other fieldwork for SYRCL as needed.
This is a full time temporary, non-exempt, and hourly position. The typical work week will comprise four ten-hour days, with work taking place from 7:00 am – 5:00 pm. The season will last for 10 weeks from mid-May to early August 2023.
