Parking: Parking is limited at the river. Please carpool when possible. Keep roads clear to ensure emergency vehicles may pass. Avoid receiving a parking ticket, or having your vehicle towed, by obeying parking signs. A $10 parking fee is collected at Bridgeport Crossing to help support the park with critical resources to keep it open. Map

Glass: Broken glass is dangerous and difficult to remove. For this reason, CA State Parks has made glass at the river a finable offense. Help us keep bare feet and paws safe by leaving glass at home.
Fires: Please no fires—it only takes a spark. Help keep our community safe, put out and pack out cigarette butts.

Land Owners: Purdon Crossing is managed by both California State Parks and the Bureau of Land Management. The South Yuba River Trail crosses over some private land; please respect the rights of private landowners.

Day Use Only: The area between a ½ mile upstream and ¼ mile downstream from Edwards Crossing is a high-density recreation area – Day Use Only.
Camping: The South Yuba Wild & Scenic River Recreation Area and National Trail is located approximately 2 miles from the Edwards Crossing. Camping is allowed in designated sites only: South Yuba Campground, Illinois Crossing and South Yuba Primitive Camp. Sites are $5.00 per night per site, and open April 1st through October 15th (weather permitting). The South Yuba Wild & Scenic River Recreation Area is administered by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
