In 2010, SYRCL produced a report on Concepts for Rehabilitation, describing ten types of projects that could be planned in the Parks Bar reach. In 2011 and 2012, SYRCL implemented a pilot project for riparian enhancement at Hammon Bar and will be monitoring the results of the projects at least through 2017. This is the first habitat restoration project to ever occur on the lower Yuba River, and we continue to develop more projects built on the foundation of science and collaboration.
Landowners on the lower Yuba River, including Western Aggregates, Teichert Industries and the Bureau of Land Management have been supportive of this work. Funding has been provided by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and the Bella Vista Foundation.

Improving the operations of hydropower projects in the Yuba River watershed will result in significant restoration of river and stream conditions. See the Dam Licensing page to learn more about this type of restoration work and how SYRCL is leading the way.
