SUMMARY:Volunteer Tree Planting at Rose Bar
DESCRIPTION:Join Our Tree-Planting Team This November\n\n\n\nAre you rea
dy to roll up your sleeves and make a difference for the Yuba River? We'
re nearing the final stages of this year's construction on our restorati
on project at Rose Bar (to learn more about the project\,&nbsp\;click he
re)\, and we're looking for able-bodied\, enthusiastic volunteers who ca
n help us transform steep slopes with the planting of almost 500 trees.
If you're up for the challenge\, we want you on our team!\n\n\n\nWhy You
r Help Is Vital:\n\n\n\nThis project is all about improving nearby spawn
ing habitat for salmon and steelhead trout and stabilizing the eroding b
anks of historic mining tailings. Your help planting these slopes will i
ncrease their stability protecting Yuba River water quality. Plus\, grow
 ing trees sequester carbon.\n\n\n\nVolunteer Requirements:\n\n\n\nPhysic
al Requirement:&nbsp\;You should be capable of lifting up to 30 pounds\,
expect to tackle challenging heights and cover significant distances (l
ikely about 3 miles\, cumulatively)\, and be prepared to navigate uneven
  terrain on rocky surfaces.&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nVehicle Requirement:&nbsp\;The
parking lot can accommodate&nbsp\;about 15 vehicles - and high clearanc
e vehicles are suggested. If you're unable to arrange transportation to
the site\, SYRCL may be able to coordinate a carpool. \n\n\n\nNOTE: This
will not be easy work\, and volunteers should be prepared to hike and s
tand on a rather steep slope\, as well as be able to lift 30 pounds or s
o and be comfortable digging holes.\n\n\n\nWhat You Can Expect:\n\n\n\n\
nA day spent outdoors\, working alongside like-minded individuals.\n\n\n
\nA sense of pride for contributing to the environment.\n\n\n\nExpert gu
idance on tree planting.\n\n\n\n\nJoin us in leaving a lasting legacy of
resilience. Your participation in this event will make a real differenc
e in the Upper Rose Bar project - in support of salmon spawning habitat.
