SUMMARY:2024 SYRCL Aspen Volunteer Work Day
DESCRIPTION:Register for the Event Here via Volunteer Local\n\n\n\n\nSYR
 CL has been involved in aspen restoration for over 10 years now\, and we
  are planning additional aspen restoration projects in the Yuba River wa
 tershed. To involve our community with the work we do\, we are hosting a
 n Aspen Volunteer Day. \n\n\n\nRegister to join SYRCL's Forest Conservat
 ion Project Manager\, Anne Marie Holt\, to help take down cattle exclusi
 on fencing this fall. The meadow should be beautiful this time of year -
  a spectacular sight you don't want to miss!\n\n\n\nVolunteer Role\n\n\n
 \nVolunteers can expect to spend the day (10:00 am to 3:00 pm) taking do
 wn cattle exclusion fencing around 2 beautiful aspen stands.\n\n\n\nWork
  gloves will be provided. \n\n\n\nBring along: water\, hiking boots\, lu
 nch\, snacks\, sunscreen\, sunhat\, warm layers\, sunglasses\, and anyth
 ing else that will make you feel comfortable working at 6\,000 feet in e
 levation on an October day. The weather may be variable. \n\n\n\nOptiona
 l items to bring include a camera\, binoculars\, and field guides\, as L
 oney Meadow is a habitat for many birds\, shrubs\, meadow vegetation\, a
 nd wildlife in addition to the aspen stands. With many hands\, we can ma
 ke this light work.\n\n\n\nLocation\n\n\n\nLoney Meadow is located about
  an hour from Nevada City\, within the Tahoe National Forest\, off Bowma
 n Lake Road (USFS Road 18). \n\n\n\nA high clearance vehicle is recommen
 ded\, low clearance vehicles can park near the Loney turn off. \n\n\n\nV
 olunteers will meet at the Loney Meadow trailhead parking area at 10 am 
 on Saturday October 5. More information will be provided to volunteers w
