In October 2021, SYRCL released a Visitor Impacts Survey that asked respondents questions about the activities they support at the river, their concerns related to increased visitation, and the measures they would like to see put into place in order to address the ever-growing number of people coming to visit the Yuba.
The report includes not only the results of the survey, but SYRCL’s recommendations moving forward. SYRCL presented this information to the Yuba River Public Safety Cohort in February 2022 in order to inform future decisions about infrastructure, enforcement, and visitor education campaigns.

Following the success of this year’s Yuba River Cleanup, in which volunteers hauled out more than six tons of trash and recyclables, we may want to take a moment to consider why cleanup programs are so necessary and why illegal dumping is such a frequent occurrence in the Yuba River watershed and throughout Nevada County.
