Member Spotlight: Awakening Women

This month, SYRCL is excited to highlight the local organization, Awakening Women. Awakening Women has been a SYRCL member since October of 2018 — we’re incredibly grateful for their generous, sustaining membership gifts.

The following is our interview with Awakening Women’s Founder, Chameli Ardagh:

Please tell us a little bit about yourself and your organization.  At Awakening Women, we study Goddess mythology, sacred texts, and embodied awakening to reclaim our direct relationship to Source and revive our spiritual lineage rooted in the Great Mother. Since the beginning of time, women have gathered to honor the sacred, offering the fruits of their practice back into the circle, as we do now. Every time we practice, we access and feed this well of wisdom for our ancestors, for ourselves, and for generations to come.  We are a women-owned and run organization. Although our community and team are connecting in from across the globe, our base is in Nevada City.  What inspires your organization to contribute to SYRCL by making a monthly contribution? The Yuba River is a sanctuary place for us, and we are committed to using our financial resources to contribute to helping to keep Her wild and beautiful. We are also dedicated to giving back to the land and community where we live. What would you say to someone who is wondering if they should become a SYRCL member? SYRCL is a wonderful organization guarding our riversheds. Our local Yuba River is a living wisdom stream accessible to all of us, and a lifeline to so many animals, plants, and people.
