We are excited to share our Official Selections for the 2022 Wild & Scenic Film Festival with you!
In exploring this year’s theme of Currents of Hope, festival-goers can expect to see award-winning films about nature, community activism, adventure, conservation, water, energy and climate change, wildlife, environmental justice, agriculture, and more. A full list of films can be found here.
Festival goers can choose from over 100 environmental and adventure films, including 8 world premiers! This year, the festival is taking place as a hybrid experience. The in-person festival in Nevada City and Grass Valley, CA runs from January 13th through 17th. The online program runs January 13th through 23rd, 2022.
We can’t wait to return with an in-person fest in 2022 as part of our hybrid festival. Things will be a bit different this year though.
Passes will only be available for the virtual portion of the festival. All in-person film sessions will be available as single-session tickets and attendees must reserve specific film sessions and venues in advance.
Fewer tickets will be available this year due to a reduction in the number of venues as well as reduced capacity in those venues. COVID-19 protocols will be in place, requiring vaccinations and masks for all in-person attendees, including staff, volunteers, and filmmakers.
Passes and tickets can be purchased as gifts so we hope you will consider giving the gift of inspiration this year!
Join our festival team!
We are recruiting Venue Captains for the 2022 Wild & Scenic Film Festival from Jan 13th to 17th. Venue Captains are paid positions responsible for helping to oversee an assigned venue during the festival. They prepare theaters for the next film session, train and manage a small team of volunteers, and create a warm inviting atmosphere for our festival guests.
