In response to COVID-19, we’ve adapted by rescheduling events or transitioning them to an online format. We’ve also begun offering a number of online activities and ways to stay engaged while sheltering in place.

This month we will be talking about newts and discussing two related papers: a news article about how climate change is negatively affective newts in Southern California, and a scientific report on which the news article is based.

River Ambassador Training – ONLINE


May 7 @ Zoom Meeting

River Ambassadors are volunteer environmental stewards trained to engage South Yuba River State Park visitors in Leave-No-Trace ethics and personal action to keep the river healthy, clean and safe. Stationed at heavily utilized river crossings, Ambassadors greet the public to provide knowledge and tools to protect the Yuba.

Are you a local 6-12 grader interested in sharing your passions for art and the environment with your community? SYRCL’s Wild & Scenic Film Festival wants to display your environmentally-themed art. Please note: the deadline has been extended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Exhibition date and venue will be announced after we receive the all-clear to organize future events.
