Stock up on reusable picnic-ware, including bamboo utensils, Klean Kanteens and Chico bags, and take your loved one to the river this weekend.
Some of our favorite places for a romantic picnic on our beloved river are at the four main crossings: Bridgeport, Highway 49, Purdon, and Edwards. Know before you go! Check out this page to learn more about these locations.
“My favorite get-away on the Yuba River is at the Bridgeport Crossing, located on State Parks property, it’s easy to access and a beautiful drive there and back. This time of year it’s too cold for a dip but my partner and I love to hike the Buttermilk Bend trail with the beginnings of wildflowers pushing through lush, green fields. This trail has great views and overlooks the South Yuba River. Get there around 5 or 5:30pm for a quick hike out and back, by the time you are heading back to your car you will catch a gorgeous sunset over the river.”
