November Volunteer Opportunities

Caption: Volunteers help to reduce invasive plant species along the Yuba River to promote better health of native species and educe fire fuels.

Protecting the Yuba takes a lot of hands and we are so grateful for all the volunteer service of our river community. Throughout the year we recruit volunteers for events like Wild & Scenic Film Festival and the Yuba River Cleanup, however, at other times of the year we need help to engage with our community.

We look for volunteers to assist on river outreach and education projects, environmental science & advocacy issues, event postering, data entry, organization and more. Jump in today and lend a hand to the Yuba!

Volunteer Opportunities in November

Outreach Volunteers – Needed to help us at our SYRCL booth for festivals, fairs and Cornish Christmas in Grass Valley and Nevada City during the holidays.  Spread some Christmas cheer for the Yuba River with one of our SYRCL staff.  We provide games and activities to engage new folks.  Volunteer needed Friday’s & Saturday’s in November and December.

Postering Volunteers – Wild & Scenic Film Festival is nearly here and we are gearing up to get the word out around town.  We are looking for volunteers to help poster at businesses in Auburn, Colfax, Penn Valley, Grass Valley & Nevada City towards the end of November.

Data Entry Volunteers – We do so much great work for the watershed at SYRCL and we need help capturing it all.  Volunteers with typing and computer skills can help collect data for our staff and scientist. Volunteer needed Wednesdays November 13th & December 18th.
