Troubled by Trash? Help SYRCL Identify River Cleanup Sites

Have your trips to the river been sullied by troublesome trash, repellent rubbish or disagreeable debris? We want to hear about it.

We need your help identifying areas along waterways in our community that need help! Nominate a site to be a new Yuba River Cleanup location. SYRCL cleans more than 30 sites each year, but we know there are other places that could use our TLC. Click here to see a map of past cleanup locations; if we’re missing a dirty creek side or swimming hole, let us know.

To nominate a site, please send the following:

  • Pictures of the trash.
  • A description of the trash. Are there heavy items? Are additional tools needed? Has this site been defaced by graffiti?
  • Approximately how many people it would take to remove the trash?
  • Details regarding accessibility. Does this site require a hike? If so, how long? Is this site on level or uneven ground? Is there parking near this site?
  • Please send nominations to Daniel Belshe at or call 265-5961 ext. 201. The more information you are able to include, the better!

We hope you will mark your calendars and join us for SYRCL’s 22nd Annual Yuba River Cleanup Day, which is just around the corner, Saturday, September 21st. Stay tuned—volunteer registration will launch in early August!
