Edwards Crossing Bridge Proposal Options

Share with Your People

Have you heard about the proposal to repair or replace the Edwards Crossing Bridge?  Our beloved bridge has been deemed structurally deficient and Nevada County is looking at three options: a structural retrofit of the existing bridge, tearing it down and building a replacement, and retaining the existing bridge for pedestrian access and building a new bridge for vehicles. There isn’t a lot of information about these options just yet, but when we know more we’ll be sure to pass it along.

In the meantime, SYRCL is working with partners from the San Juan Ridge Taxpayers Association and the North San Juan Fire Protection District to find out everything we can, and to come up with a plan that provides a safe crossing, protects the river and our historic resources, and addresses the needs of our emergency responders. Stay tuned for more updates soon.
