Best Management Practices Workshop

Join SYRCL and sustainable and organic farming experts for a workshop on best management practices for your garden. Whether you are growing cannabis or tomatoes, we would love to see you there!

We want to inspire this community to create a “green” Green Rush here in the Yuba watershed. At SYRCL, our mission is to restore and protect the Yuba watershed. Our successes in this watershed – from stopping new dams to saving our State Park to protecting salmon— have been because of the community’s love for the Yuba River. SYRCL understands that many growers in our area are already implementing what is known as best management practices in their gardens.

In recent years, and with legalization and regulation on the horizon, we have become increasingly concerned that the cumulative impacts of dispersed agriculture across our watershed will negatively impact our streams and forests.

Event Details

When: March 21^st, 2015 from 9:30am-4:30pm

Networking/Happy Hour: 4:30pm-5:30pm

Cost: $20 pre-sale, $30 at the door (includes lunch)

Tickets will be available at BriarPatch Co-op, Mother Truckers, and the SYRCL office starting February 26th or at the door

Location: Shady Creek Outdoor School (18601 Pathfinder Way, Nevada City 95959)

We value a shared river environment that is safe, accessible and improved by our collective love and hard work. We know that as a community we can work together to educate each other and grow cannabis in an environmentally friendly and sustainable way. This workshop is an effort to encourage farmers to move away from diverting and overusing water that runs in our streams, applying too much inorganic fertilizer, or inadvertently poisoning local wildlife. There is a wealth of local knowledge here in our county and beyond –please join us to help plant the seeds for a verdant future.
