Vic and Kathy Scott have been members since they moved to Nevada City two years ago.  Faced with many choices for a new home after retiring, they went on a few scouting expeditions to find a place with a slower pace. They explored the Central Coast and Foothills regions, but after they took a drive up the 49 and arrived in our beautiful community, they knew they had found the right place.

As self-proclaimed “outdoor types,” Vic and Kathy like to camp, hike, fish, backpack, cross country ski, and more. In addition to being close to all the activities they love, they were struck by how friendly and happy the residents were in this area (and what courteous drivers they were!).  And as Kathy explains, “they just clicked with the town.”

And they hadn’t even moved into their new house when Vic & Kathy first encountered SYRCL via the Wild & Scenic Film Festival.

Two years later and these river lovers are Film Festival volunteers, River Monitors and valued SYRCL members.

Thank you Vic and Kathy, for all you do to support the Yuba!
