Like the President’s annual address, SYRCL’s annual “State of the Yuba” serves as a report to the citizens of the Yuba watershed on the condition of the river, to outline SYRCL’s priorities for the coming year, and most importantly, enlist all river lovers in the protection and restoration of the Yuba. This FREE event is for all members of the community who care about the Yuba River and want to know more about SYRCL’s efforts to protect the watershed.

River Ambassadors are volunteer environmental stewards trained to engage South Yuba River State Park visitors in Leave No Trace ethics and personal action to keep the river healthy, clean and safe. Stationed at four heavily utilized river crossings, Ambassadors speak face-to-face with the public to provide the knowledge and tools they need to protect the Yuba.

Yuba River Cleanup

Join SYRCL and the community for the 21st annual Yuba River Cleanup on Saturday, September 15th, 2018! We have nearly 80 miles of rivers, creeks and shoreline to cover in just one day and we need your help keeping our local rivers trash free. Help us haul out the garbage, divert recyclables from the landfill, and keep the Yuba clean, safe and healthy. This event has been going strong for 20 years, hauling out MORE THAN 200,000 POUNDS of garbage and recycling!
