Live Auction Items

Discover Hidden Wonders along the Bear River with Isaac Silverman.
Isaac is a SYRCL Board Member and an environmental attorney and organizer for Sierra Watch with deep roots in the Sierra Nevada. He grew up in the Placer County Foothills exploring the Yuba and Bear Rivers, and has intimate familiarity with some of the regions pristine hidden gems. Isaac will take 2-4 guests on a day-long exploration of the Bear River, from his childhood home in Placer County, hiking through forest to a waterfall, then down to the Bear. You’ll then float/walk 2 miles to the Hwy 49 crossing, discovering numerous swimming holes, jumping rocks, and rapids to play in along the way. This stretch of the river doesn’t have any public access so it’s likely that we won’t see any other people until we get to 49. This will be a full and somewhat physically demanding day requiring that the attendees be comfortable hiking down steep terrain, scrambling over rocks, floating mild (class 2) rapids, and up for an occasional bushwhack. Picnic lunch will be provided by your host.
