Cleanup or Restoration? Sites are Filling Fast!

Throughout the watershed, Cleanup and Restoration sites are filling up quickly! Join the largest Cleanup in the Sierra by registering today for the 20th Annual Yuba River Cleanup. We have sites along 80+ miles of rivers and creeks throughout the Yuba and Bear River watershed. Since 1998, Yuba lovers have rallied to remove more than 100 tons of garbage and recycling. Join us today and help make our 20th the best yet!

On Saturday, September 16th more than 800 volunteers will come together to remove more than 10,000 pounds of garbage from the Yuba. And the site choices are exciting. The vast majority of volunteers have been participating in the Cleanup for years. More often than not, they know exactly where they want to go. Where will you be on Cleanup day?

Some sites are perfect for little feet!

Families with young children are eager to snag sites at Englebright LakeWashington, Deer Creek or Oregon Creek on the Middle Yuba. If you’ve got little ones in your Cleanup crew, you’ll want to grab these sites before they fill up!

Other sites require teamwork and a bit of rock scrambling

Dedicated and determined river stewards register early and encourage their friends and colleagues to join them at sites such as: Parks Bar on the lower Yuba, PurdonEmerald Pools and Langs Crossing, Wolf Creek: Idaho-Maryland Rd, and Donner Summit at Soda Springs to Cisco Grove, that offer ample room larger groups. Together they venture out and make a day of it.

Hankering for a restoration project?

We’ve got restoration projects ready to be tackled on all three forks of the Yuba. We’ll be on the North Yuba at Fiddle Creek Campground and Carlton Flat Campround, on the Middle Yuba at Oregon Creek, and on the South Yuba at Edward’s Crossing and Bridgeport at Kentucky Creek.

Looking for adventure?

Check out these off-the-beaten-path sites at: Gold Run Creek  in Nevada City, or Poorman Creek at the South Yuba River Trailhead.

Looking for a challenge? Got 4WD or high clearance?

We could use some heavy hitters with rugged, high-clearance vehicles to help us at Golden Quartz Day Use Area and Jones Bar, both on the South Yuba.

Whatever you fancy, we hope you and your friends will bring your team spirit and own unique interpretation of Throwback to the Cleanup and volunteer appreciation party. Costumes are highly encouraged!
