Dam Watchdogs Fill NID Board Meeting

On Wednesday, 4/12/17, our Dam Watchdog volunteers and allies filled NID’s meeting room to ask board members to reconsider live-streaming and video archiving their public meetings.

At the March 8th board meeting, NID directors voted to stay with their old method — audio recording — rather than move into the 21^st century. The motion from Director Nancy Weber for live streaming died on the floor, even though three community groups requested live-stream and video replay on behalf of the public “in the interest of openness, transparency, and community relations.” YubaNet recorded everything, though.
