Share with Your People

The Hallwood Side Channel and Floodplain Restoration Project, funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), will restore critical habitat for Chinook salmon and steelhead trout in the lower Yuba River. In an area that now consists mostly of steep cobble embankments, the project has the potential to enhance or create up to 170 acres of seasonally-inundated riparian floodplain habitats, more than 3 miles of perennial side channels and alcoves, and more than 4 miles of seasonal side channels.

Project partners include USFWS, cbec eco-engineering, Cramer Fish SciencesSouth Yuba River Citizens League, Teichert Materials, and Western Aggregates.
