Yuba River Salmon Tours–The Salmon have arrived!!

September 30, 2011

On an early float down the Lower Yuba River this September, we were excited to see that the first salmon in the fall-run have arrived!!!  New SYRCL naturalists were trained during this float and now in partnership with river guides from Environmental Travel Companions are ready to lead people down the Lower Yuba River.  So come experience the remarkable journey of fall-run Chinook salmon as they return from the sea to their ancestral spawning grounds!!!  This salmon run is unique in the fact that the Yuba is free of hatcheries and represents one of the last remaining strongholds for wild, self-sustaining salmon runs in the San Francisco Bay Watershed.

Come experience the journey!

Salmon tours are a wonderful opportunity for you and your family to witness this amazing species in their natural environment and see first hand their incredible life cycle. Not only will you gain hands on educational experience, you will also gain a better understanding as to how humans are impacting these fish and how they can be protected!!
