The 11th Year of River Monitoring to Begin Soon!!
SYRCL will be kicking off our 11th year of River Monitoring on Saturday March 12th. Thanks to our dedicated group of citizen monitors who make it all possible! The vast amount of water quality data we have collected over the last ten years is important to protecting and restoring the Yuba River watershed. We are happy to announce that 70 monitors will be returning this year. We still need to fill a few positions at various sites and also need substitutes, so if you are contemplating joining our fabulous team of river monitors please join us at the following trainings:
Orientation: 6 pm Wednesday March 9th at the SYRCL office
Field Training: 9:30 am - 2:30 pm Saturday March 19th at Bridgeport State Park
River Monitoring will occur on the 2nd Saturday of each month this year in order to avoid holidays such as Labor Day Weekend or the 4th of July and maintain consistency in our data collection. If you plan on attending these trainings or would like more information about our river monitoring program please contact SYRCL’s River Monitoring Coordinator, Kaitlyn Hacker, at Kaitlyn@syrcl.org or at 530-265-5961 x 205.
